Unlike most artists, singer, prominent business woman, and self proclaimed president of single mothers in Kenya, Akothee, has never been shy about her humble beginnings.
She has severally taken to social media to highlight her journey from rags to riches and her fans love her for keeping it real, always.
Recently the ‘give it to me’ hit-maker decided to giver her fans a detailed account of how she used to drum up finances keep herself and her family alive.
In her post she also explains why she throws big parties for her kids currently to make up for the all the times they wished they could live large.
“It was @rue.baby birthday 2008, that top and skirt was new , pliz don’t come , and my taxi packed right infront of my apartment, I was paying monthly rent of 25,000ksh , 2 bedrooms just enough for me and my 3 eggs @rue.baby @veshashaillan @fancy_makadia , clarina Apartments in shanzu, if you stayed there between 2008 – 2009 then you can tell my story better with no salt, 😂😂😂😂 my children went to bahari parents which was a high standard school even though I had nothing, (niliishi maisha ya kubahatisha, pata leo kesho zero) 😂😂😂😂, so even if you see me thro big birthday bashes today , it’s something that has been in my heart , to give my kids the best , that I dint receive, I will climb the highest mountains just for my kids not to go through what I went through,” she wrote.
